International Coordination Anthroposophic Medicine (IKAM)
The anthroposophical medical movement is a network of independent institutions and specialist fields in the area of anthroposophical medicine. It is coordinated by the International Coordination of Anthroposophical Medicine (IKAM).
Each member of IKAM is responsible for coordinating a specific area of anthroposophical medicine. IKAM currently consists of 24 coordinators from various professional fields and areas of activity. Besides doctors, these include nurses, curative educators, eurythmy therapists, art therapists, psychotherapists and physiotherapists as well as patients and clinic associations, pharmacists, pharmaceutical manufacturers, the work with student interns, training and development and also public relations.
It seeks to develop community building and a style of leadership that will leave the individual in his or her initiative and still allow for joint action and accountability.
- Consultation on the current state and development needs of the worldwide anthroposophic medical movement
- Planning, implementation, and/or supervision and support of the initiatives needed for the further development of anthroposophic medicine
- The facilitation of IKAM is the responsibility of the Medical Section at the Goetheanum or a person it designates for this purpose.
