ELIANT stands for people who want to live in a Europe that is culturally diverse with freedom of choice:

in questions of education, the economy, social reform, organic agriculture, and complementary and integrative medicine.

We are committed in Europe to

a democratic culture which supports the individual as well as the community

Europe is diversity – culturally, economically and politically. Europe unites not just impressive majorities but also qualified minorities. Systems that do not encourage diversity become impoverished, are weakened and lose their potential for creativity and innovation. Finally they can no longer cope with the challenges of life or with continued development. This can currently be observed in the areas of agriculture, medicine, ecology, economics and politics.

This is why the European Union’s Charter of Fundamental Rights emphasizes the equal treatment of minorities. Article 2 of the Treaty of the European Union confirms the rights of minorities. However, these rights are often circumvented and excluded by current laws and directives. This in turn calls into question and overturns the European Union’s Charter of Fundamental Rights.

ELIANT and its partners are working to ensure that the EU Commission and EU Parliament take into account the rights of minorities in the formulation of existing and future laws and directives. Only in this way can achievements in one country become fruitful for the others.

It is unacceptable if valuable contributions to society such as what is offered by anthroposophic medicine and social therapy, the educational culture of the Waldorf and Steiner school movement, as well as biodynamic agriculture, fail in their further development due to bureaucratic obstacles of the EU.

The Union is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. These values are common to the Member States in a society in which pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men prevail.
