Current events and a big thank you
News from Africa and inspiring initiatives in Europe
Dear Friends of ELIANT,
AAAT in Namibia
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who was able to support this year’s AAAT further training week in Namibia! This also enabled us to help in advance with organising a 14-day training course at a biodynamic farm in Krumhuk near Windhoek with participants from 14 African countries! This was followed by the AAAT further training week for the transfer of knowledge and practical skills in water ecology, biography work, trauma education, youth work, Steiner education, supportive education and social therapy, management and leadership questions, etc. The report will be available here in a few weeks.
That this became possible is solely due to your generous donations, supplemented by contributions from the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum and a few small foundations. All that remained was a small deficit, which we were able to cover at ELIANT – also thanks to your support. Representatives from five African countries have expressed interest in organising such a further training week locally in their own countries – that is thrilling! The knowledge conveyed is a seed that will grow in the coming months and years and bear fruit in many countries in Africa.
Inspiring initiatives in Europe and beyond
Across Europe, schools are looking for ways to inspire their pupils to get involved in advocating for the earth and social togetherness. Whether it starts in a school garden or an experiment in the classroom – every story about protecting our environment has the potential to inspire others. Our ELIANT member ECSWE invites you to a half-day online conference on this topic on 10 October 2025, 09:30 – 13:00 CET. It will bring together pupils, teachers, parents and changemakers to share stories about lived sustainability. Whether you participate as a listener or a storyteller, your voice is important in helping to shape the future of sustainability in education! You can register here.
We are also following with great interest the European youth initiative European Alternatives, in whose networking endeavours we are participating.
Learning from bitter experiences in difficult times where the causes of disasters lie and how we can draw energy from this to create a more humane future – this connects us with many initiatives and people around the world, and gives us courage!
With the very best wishes and warm regards from our ELIANT team
Michaela Glöckler
With your donation you are helping us to contribute to shaping the future!
