International ELIANT conference: HEALTHY INNOVATIONS FOR EUROPE

You are warmly invited to our conference in Brussels and online on 20 May 2025

Dear Friends of ELIANT,

We are very pleased to welcome you to our conference in Brussels this year! Meeting each other directly together with our alliance partners as well as online – with simultaneous interpretation into English, French and, if required, also Spanish.

Why 2025 in particular?
On the one hand, we live in a time of upheaval, seeing old orthodoxies disappear and insecurity, fear, violent conflicts and the destruction of nature increase so that many people are looking for new orientation and inner security. This is also what occupies us: what should our world look like in 10 years? What cultural and peace-building initiatives are there and how can they be promoted? It is our desire to enter into dialogue with you about this.

In addition, we would like to commemorate the fact that the social reformer, philosopher and anthroposophist Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925) died 100 years ago on 30 March. Together with his co-workers, he was able to set new life-serving impulses as a result of which cultural movements have come about that continue to grow to this day and which have shown themselves to be constructive and helpful in a wide variety of areas of life. We have asked prominent pioneers of such initiatives in agriculture, medicine, education and business to report about their experiences, hopes and views on the future of Europe and to join us in a discussion. Find out more here.

What characterises these different initiatives? What do they have in common? It is the consistent endeavour to promote the healthy development of the individual and of human society. This “cultural therapeutic task” was at the centre of Rudolf Steiner’s life’s work in the fields of philosophy, theology, agriculture, medicine, supportive education and education, based on more than 40 years of research into the relationship between spirit and matter. Becoming aware of this crucial fact and aligning both our own development with it and seizing our social engagement anew thereby is what connects us.

In the meantime, scientific results are also available that can give cause for hope: for example, in October 2024, the science journal Scientific Reports published results which show that biodynamic agriculture is the only agricultural system known so far to be able to build up humus, that its soils are more alive and that the negative effects on the climate are significantly lower than those of the other cultivation systems. You can find out more about the continuing spread of biodynamic agriculture worldwide and also have the opportunity to donate to this cause here.

Looking forward to welcoming some of you in person in Brussels on 20 May and hoping that others from different countries interested in attending will be able to join us online, with warm regards,
Michaela Glöckler and the ELIANT team

Here you can support our work – we thank you!
