New GM technology – please help us
Our New Year’s greetings and a thank you for your Christmas donation!
Dear Friends of ELIANT,
We send you our best wishes for the New Year! And our very big thank you for your Christmas donation! Not only does it give us the opportunity to continue our work – it also strengthens our courage and hope, with your help, we will be able to continue contributing to a culture that focuses on the development of humanity in 2026, despite the uncertainty, unrest and turbulence that characterise the global situation.
Last chance: Please help preserve the right to freedom of choice in the light of the planned new regulation on genetically modified organisms/GMOs.
The European Parliament and the Council of Ministers will be holding final rounds of voting in the coming weeks before the regulation on new GMOs is adopted.
Please use this link to send an email to the MEPs from your constituency and urge them to vote in favour of strict rules for all new GMO products in the final vote in the European Parliament! That will demonstrate broad support for the ELIANT letter that we are sending to all members of the Parliament!
For the EU plans to significantly relax the requirements for new GMOs, also known as ‘new genomic techniques’. If this less stringent regulation were to be adopted, there would no longer be any prior safety checks, mandatory traceability or labelling requirements on packaging for these genetically modified organisms. This would mean that genetically modified products would end up on our fields and plates without our knowledge. We demand that labelling on packaging must be guaranteed throughout the entire value chain.
‘100 Years Rudolf Steiner Conference’ at the Harvard Divinity School/HDS
Michaela Glöckler represented ELIANT at the ‘100 Years Rudolf Steiner Conference’ at the HDS in Boston on 15 and 16 December. Here is the link to the report.
This event was exceptional in three ways:
- For the first time, Rudolf Steiner’s life’s work was constructively examined and honoured in all its diversity at an American university.
- A realistic picture emerged of how Steiner is currently perceived in the world. There was a refreshing atmosphere of tolerance and openness to discussion among the participants.
- All contributions will be edited for publication and will subsequently be accessible via the HDS archive.
The theologian William Ellery Channing, revered as the co-founder of the HDS, is considered the apostle of Unitarianism . He sought the common ground among the Christian denominations, which later led to this principle also being extended to all world religions and spiritual orientations. In comparison, Rudolf Steiner can be called the apostle of what is universally human, because that is what applied anthroposophy is all about: promoting humanity in all areas of life and contributing to a culture of peace.
In this spirit, warm regards also on behalf of the Alliance partners
Michaela Glöckler
With your donation you are helping us to contribute to shaping the future!
