Prof. Dr. Dr. Gertraud Teuchert-Noodt, Neurobiologist

Prof. Dr. Gertraud Teuchert-Noodt was Head of Neuroanatomy at the Faculty of Biology / University of Bielefeld, 1979 – 2005. Her areas of expertise are Neuro-, Evolutionary- and Humanbiology. Her research focus is Developmental Biology and research into learning and psychosis in the limbic-prefrontal system, i.e. transmitter and plasticity research including the development of a non-invasive psychosis model (Gerbils).
 
Publications: various papers on learning and psychosis research in professional journals, various contributions in educational / psychological journals, books and papers on the treatment and neurobiology of burnout.
 
The focus of Prof. Dr. G. Teuchert-Noodt is currently on various topics relating to the effects of digital media on the brain. Based on the current scientific findings from neuroplasticity and research into transmitter and brain rhythms, her lectures convey the present state of knowledge concerning the effect of media on higher brain functions in a generally accessible way. She specially addresses the impact of such media on learning aptitude, concentration, addiction, etc in childhood.
